Gears 5 Collectibles Locations Guide: Find All Collectibles
Following the legacy of earlier Gears of War games, Gears 5 features a large number of collectibles for you to discover. Hidden in almost every chapter of the campaign, finding all of these Gears of War 5 collectibles will unlock “It’s Not Hoarding if your Stuff is Cool” achievement. This all-in-one Gears 5 collectibles locations guide will help you find every single piece of collectible hidden in all chapters of different acts.
Gears 5 Collectibles Locations
We’ve divided the collectibles based on the acts/chapters they are found in. If you’re hunting for collectibles in a specific act or chapter, you can directly jump to them.
Collectibles in Gears 5 have references from the earlier Gears of War games as well as detail some of the events of the current game. Therefore, you should try to find as many of these collectibles as possible.
Act 1, Chapter 1: Shot in the Dark Collectibles
There are 7 collectibles that you can find in Act 1, Chapter 1: Shot in the Dark.
Collectible 1: Weathered Spectacles
After you rappel down near the waterfall, turn back around into the alcove to find Weathered Spectacles.
Collectible 2: Onyx Guard Challenge Coin
From the first collectible, turn around to get out of the water and toward your objective. You need to stick on the leftmost path that ends in a cliff to find Onyx Guard Challenge Coin.
Collectible 3: Wellness Advisory Poster
Once you’re inside the facility before getting to the cables, you’ll find the Wellness Advisory Poster on the wall of a small room.
Collectible 4: COG Tags: Fallen Azura Gear
After Dave gives you access to Infirmary, check the body of a COG right next to a poster that says, “Give Blood Today” to grab COG Tags: Fallen Azura Gear.
Collectible 5: Chairman’s Wristwatch
After grabbing the COG Tags, you need to go upstairs and search the offices on the left. The Chairman’s Wristwatch is sitting on a desk inside an office with an open door.
Collectible 6: Lightmass Missile Strike Authorization
After fighting Swarm, you’ll come to a control room after a small set of stairs. The Lightmass Missile Strike Authorization is in front of two large monitors.
Collectible 7: UIR Hammer of Dawn Blueprints
Before you get to the commander’s office, you’ll go through a small room with a few posters and a globe sitting in the middle. You should see the UIR Hammer of Dawn Blueprints sitting on the table in front of the globe.
Act 1, Chapter 2: Diplomacy Collectibles
There are 5 collectibles that you can find in Act 1, Chapter 2: Diplomacy.
Collectible 1: Photograph of Kilo Squad
Photograph of Kilo Squad can be found on a desk in Baird’s lab. This is the area where you start the chapter.
Collectible 2: Mark 3 Lancer Blueprint
In Baird’s lab, the Mark 3 Lancer Blueprint can be found on top of some wooden crates labeled “MEDICAL”.
Collectible 3: Trauma Record: Marcus Fenix
Before training, look to your right to find a trolley with Trauma Record: Marcus Fenix for you to grab. This is on the opposite side of the “MEDICAL” crates,
Collectible 4: Gym Notice to Trainees
After the training is done, you’ll find the Gym Notice to Trainees pasted on one of the gym walls.
Collectible 5: DBI Marketing Brochure
While on your way to Jinn’s office, check the blue couch on the opposite side of the reception desk (outside the gym) to find the DBI Marketing Brochure.
Act 1, Chapter 3: This is War Collectibles
There are 7 collectibles that you can find in Act 1, Chapter 3: This is War.
Collectible 1: COG Tags: Fallen Raven Pilot
After you take control of your character in the starting area, hug the left wall and grab the COG Tags: Fallen Raven Pilot off a COG’s body.
Collectible 2: The New Ephyran: 20th Anniversary
Once you go upstairs after the first collectible, check the backside of the room to find the New Ephyran: 20th Anniversary on a desk with two posters on its sides.
Collectible 3: Seditious Literature
After the fight, you need to continue upstairs to the offices with broken windows overlooking the road. The Seditious Literature should be on a desk in the left corner.
Collectible 4: Settlement 2 Welcome Package
After you reach the apartment and meet civilians, you need to head inside a small room on the left side to find the Settlement 2 Welcome Package on a desk. You’ll also see a guitar nearby.
Collectible 5: Storied Embry Star
After the massive gunfight with the Swarm, you need to go to the building where the snipers were stationed at and go upstairs to find the Storied Embry Star inside one of the drawers/lockers.
Collectible 6: COG Tags: Fallen Gear at Condor Crash
On your way to meet Carmine, you’ll come across a crashed condor with a dead COG containing the COG Tags: Fallen Gear at Condor Crash.
Collectible 7: Seran Colossus
Before the end of the chapter, you’ll come across a few shops. You need to get inside the book shop and find the Seran Colossus near the middle.
Act 1, Chapter 4: The Tide Turns Collectibles
There are 7 collectibles that you can find in Act 1, Chapter 4: The Tide Turns.
Collectible 1: Memo to Bomah Hotel Staff
After getting Stim for Jack, you need to go toward the hotel and head inside the leftmost loading dock area. Once inside, you’ll find the Memo to Bomah Hotel Staff on a table with a red box.
Collectible 2: COG Tags: Fallen Gear at Hotel
After going through a set of double-doors in the hotel, you’ll see a dead COG leaned beside a shelf with COG Tags: Fallen Gear at Hotel near the body. It’s in a very dimly-lit room.
Collectible 3: Lost Horse Plush
After going through another set of double-doors, you’ll come to the hotel’s lobby. You need to go to the area with a painting on top of a couch and find a man’s corpse holding onto the Lost Horse Plush.
Collectible 4: Settlement 2 Summer Birth Pamphlet
Once you get to the party area where you’ve to crouch through furniture to make progress, check the table on the right to find the Settlement 2 Summer Birth Pamphlet.
Collectible 5: Song Lyrics
You need to go inside the dressing room in the backstage area and find the Song Lyrics on the dressing table.
Collectible 6: Worn Lighter
You’ll find a makeup table in the backstage area with the Worn Lighter on top of it.
Collectible 7: Octus Canon Scroll Prop
While staying in the backstage area, you need to look for a ladder against a wall. Once you’ve found it, check the right of it to find the Octus Canon Scroll Prop.
Act 2, Chapter 1: Recruitment Drive Collectibles
There are 10 collectibles that you can find in Act 2, Chapter 1: Recruitment Drive.
Collectible 1: Hand-Carved Riftworm Flute
You need to head down the stairs but before going to the village, go inside the room/shop on the right to find the Hand-Carved Riftworm Flute next to a barrel.
Collectible 2: Ilima City License Plate
After going into the village, you need to look for a furnace on the right side. You’ll find the Ilima City License Plate in front of the furnace.
Collectible 3: Lost Gear Helmet
You need to turn left from the statue in the village and go to the upper-left corner to find the Lost Gear Helmet in the snow (near some bushes).
Collectible 4: Wooden Lancer Toy
After you notice a kid calling you fascist, try to find where he was hiding (near a cement block) and you’ll find his Wooden Lancer Toy.
Collectible 5: Major Howl and the Battlin’ Ants!
As soon as you notice the kid calling you fascist, check the shop on the left side. It’s the one with a broken boat inside it. You need to go inside the shop and check desk with the lamps to find the “Major Howl and the Battlin’ Ants!” collectible.
Collectible 6: New Village Rules Mandate
You need to go inside the shop with a few mechanics working on the scrap and check the wall near the lockers to find the New Village Rules Mandate notice.
Collectible 7: Note to the Chief
Before you go downstairs to meet the chief, you need to go inside the rightmost building and the left room to find the Note to the Chief collectible on a table with the kettle.
Collectible 8: Norsko’s Letter
While on your way to see the chief, check the crates to find the Norsko’s Letter.
Collectible 9: COG Tags: Oscar Diaz
After speaking to the chief and backtracking, don’t go through the door. Instead, go inside the buildings on the right side to find the COG Tags: Oscar Diaz near the back-right wall. It’s in a dark room where you’ve to turn the lights on.
Collectible 10: Outsider Skiff Schematic
In the upper area where you find the silverback, you need to look to the left of the silverback to find the Outsider Skiff Schematic near an open window.
Act 2, Chapter 2: Into the Wild Collectibles
There are 4 collectibles that you can find in Act 2, Chapter 2: Into the Wild.
Collectible 1: Grindlift Maintenance Notes
You need to go to a train tunnel area and look for the wreckage of an old train cabin. You need to go inside it and find the Grindlift Maintenance Notes as well as a component.
Collectible 2: Faded Photograph
You need to head out in the snow toward the northeast edge of the train tunnel area and go inside the secluded train carriage to find the Faded Photograph right next to a skeleton.
Collectible 3: Islander’s Lost Earring
You need to go to the east side of the old COG Gate to find some debris, weapons, and a rusty vehicle. You’ll find the Islander’s Lost Earring near the dead bodies.
Collectible 4: Lena’s Journal
While working toward your main objective, you need to head toward the Outsiders’ camp with a couple of tents and a campfire. You’ll find Lena’s Journal in the campsite. You mustn’t go into the cave before collecting this collectible.
Act 2, Chapter 3: Forest for the Trees Collectibles
There are 6 collectibles that you can find in Act 2, Chapter 3: Forest for the Trees.
Collectible 1: Intercepted Letter
After accessing New Hope, don’t follow Del to the left side and go right to find the Intercepted Letter on top of a table.
Collectible 2: Sovereign Directive 10345
Once you’re in the medical facility, you’ll be able to use Jack to open up a locked medical room on the right side. It’s the room with a lot of x-rays on the walls. Once you’re inside, check the top-right corner to find the Sovereign Directive 10345.
Collectible 3: Patient Analysis: AX-331-2
From the previous collectible, you need to go into the next medical room with IV bags and gurneys. Once inside, you’ll find the Patient Analysis: AX-331-2 file sparkling brightly in the darkroom.
Collectible 4: Patient Analysis: EV-184-9
After jumping into the observation area, check the left side to find the Patient Analysis: EV-184-9 report in front of a monitor.
Collectible 5: Patient Analysis: RK-619-4
While searching for Niles, you should see come across a room with lights facing toward you and a dead locust in the middle of the room. You need to search the area on the left side of the dead locust to find the Patient Analysis: RK-619-4 collectible.
Collectible 6: Timeworn Data Drive
You’ll eventually find yourself in a server area with racks of PCs and servers. Once in there, check the central shelf to find the Timeworn Data Drive.
Act 2, Chapter 4: The Source of it All Collectibles
There are 10 collectibles that you can find in Act 2, Chapter 4: The Source of it All.
Collectible 1: Security Memorandum
You need to go to the East Communication Tower, on the northwest edge of the eastern Radio Tower and go inside the substation to find the Security Memorandum hiding in a corner.
Collectible 2: Krav’s Locust Tag
Before entering the Old Derrick site on the north side of the map, you need to go left to find the Krav’s Locust Tag near a corpse and some debris.
Collectible 3: Grindlift Actuator Component
You need to go inside the Old Derrick site and open up a hatch on the west area to find the Grindlift Actuator Component. It’s also related to a side quest in Gears 5.
Collectible 4: Lena’s Scribbles
Lena’s Scribbles collectible is pasted on the keypad of the North Communication Tower.
Collectible 5: Orders from Ketor Skorge
You need to go to the entrance of the central Old Derrick site and look for the Orders from Ketor Skorge collectible right next to the skeleton near the rusted machinery.
Collectible 6: Grindlift Radiator Component
While going through the central Old Derrick site, continue to progress through waves of enemies and open up a golden hatch on an old machine to collect the Grindlift Radiator Component.
Collectible 7: Letter to Momma
From the eastern Radio Tower, you need to take the skiff up the left ramp to find an old, frozen vehicle with a few boxes in front of it. You can collect the Letter to Momma collectible from one of the boxes.
Collectible 8: Frayed Pouncer-Tooth Necklace
After dealing with the enemies, you need to head inside the Old Mine area. Up a ladder, you’ll find some shacks and huts. The Frayed Pouncer-Tooth Necklace collectible is in one of the shacks with some crates and a yellow box.
Collectible 9: Nethercutt Mining Poster
Continue to push toward your objective and keep your eyes peeled on the left-side walls. You’ll be able to collect the Nethercutt Mining Poster collectible right next to a large doorway.
Collectible 10: Nethercutt Miner’s Journal
Inside the Old Mine area, stick to the left side and you’ll be able to collect the Nethercutt Miner’s Journal collectible from a kitchen/dining hall area. It should be on a table.
Act 2, Chapter 5: Dirtier Little Secrets Collectibles
There are 6 collectibles that you can find in Act 2, Chapter 5: Dirtier Little Secrets.
Collectible 1: Nethercutt Helmet
After you’re inside the cave at the start of the chapter, go to your right and you’ll find the Nethercutt Helmet in the middle area.
Collectible 2: Subject Analysis: UL-119-2
Once you get to the lab inside the facility, go to the far-right area to find the Subject Analysis: UL-119-2 collectible near a desk.
Collectible 3: Subject Analysis: TE-872-3
After the cutscene ends, look to your immediate right to find the Subject Analysis: TE-872-3 collectible.
Collectible 4: Lexigram Board
While pursuing the robot, keep your eyes peeled for some frozen locusts on the right side. As soon as you see them, you need to head right to find a dead body with the Lexigram Board lying near it.
Collectible 5: Subject Analysis: EV-184-9
After shutting down the lockdown, go to the door and check the desk on your right to find the Subject Analysis: EV-184-9 collectible. You mustn’t leave the room without collecting it.
Collectible 6: Sketchbook
Near the very end of the chapter, you’ll come across a cell block with a glass door and mat on the floor. You need to head to the center of the room to find the Sketchbook collectible on the floor.
Act 3, Chapter 1: Fighting Chance Collectibles
There are 5 collectibles that you can find in Act 3, Chapter 1: Fighting Chance.
Collectible 1: Corisku Newspaper
After the chapter starts, check the bar counter in front of you to collect the Corisku Newspaper.
Collectible 2: Doomed Empire, by Logan Hobbs
On the far end of the room, you’ll find plenty of bags and wooden crates. Between these, you’ll find Doomed Empire, by Logan Hobbs collectible.
Collectible 3: Missive to Agent 9
Missive to Agent 9 collectible is inside the office space (of the airport building) that requires you to go through some metal detectors. You’ll find it on a table.
Collectible 4: Nomad’s Creed
After you get outside, you should easily be able to find some tables set up around tents. On one of these tables, you’ll locate the Nomad’s Creed collectible.
Collectible 5: The Astounding Lightning Rangers!
After the dialogue with Baird, you need to go inside the hangar 4 and find “The Astounding Lightning Rangers!” collectible on the left shelves.
Act 3, Chapter 2: Rocket Plan Collectibles
There are 6 collectibles that you can find in Act 3, Chapter 2: Rocket Plan.
Collectible 1: Hammer of Dawn Command Case
After Jack hacks into the network terminal to allow you to see through the glass, check the area to find the Hammer of Dawn Command Case collectible.
Collectible 2: OZP-11 Termination Directive
Once you’re inside the hangar bay, you need to go downstairs and find yellow/gray barrels on the left side. The OZP-11 Termination Directive collectible is on one of these barrels.
Collectible 3: UIR Space Mission Brief
UIR Space Mission Brief collectible is inside a small control room with a green board in the back and some consoles on the right. You need to go to the end of the room to collect it.
Collectible 4: Loyalist Orders from Major Toly
Before you take the gauntry, check the right side area to find a dozen sandbags with the Loyalist Orders from Major Toly collectible near them.
Collectible 5: UIR Tag: Major Toly
In the large, sandy area with a humongous tank in the center, you need to search the body of a dead COG to find the UIR Tag: Major Toly collectible. You must do this before heading inside the tunnel toward your main objective.
Collectible 6: The Major’s Speech
After going through the tunnel, you’ll arrive at a large room with fenced flooring and a few tables. You need to head to the left side to find The Major’s Speech collectible on a table.
Act 4, Chapter 1: Homefront Collectibles
There are 4 collectibles that you can find in Act 4, Chapter 1: Homefront.
Collectible 1: Encyclopedia of Tyran Military History
After starting the chapter, you need to go upstairs in a room with a few desks, scattered pages on the ground, and a turned chair. You’ll find the Encyclopedia of Tyran Military History in this room.
Collectible 2: Ruptured Gear Helmet
After you get back on the road and are asked to head left to join the fight, continue right to come to a dead-end and grab the Ruptured Gear Helmet from the left.
Collectible 3: COG Tags: Mihn Young Kim
Before you go inside the tomb, look for a rusted car in the marsh. You should find the COG Tags: Mihn Young Kim on the car’s hood.
Collectible 4: Restoration Notice: Tomb of the Unknowns
You should easily spot the Restoration Notice: Tomb of the Unknowns on the right side of the tomb’s doorway.
