Madden 20 Face of the Franchise Walkthrough Guide: Choices and Outcomes, Endings

Madden 20 Face of the Franchise Walkthrough Guide

In Madden NFL 20, EA Sports has renamed the Longshot story mode to Face of the Franchise. The name change is the only thing you need to concern with. The way Face of the Franchise works in Madden 20 is the same how Longshot worked in Madden 19. You fill in the shoes of a back college Quarterback as you work your way up to getting drafted on an NFL team. You’ll have to make decisions which will impact different things. This Madden 20 Face of the Franchise Walkthrough will detail all the decision alongside their outcomes.

Madden 20 Face of the Franchise Walkthrough

You can think of Face of the Franchise mode as something akin to Telltale Games minus your decisions having that major impact. Madden’s story mode is somewhat forgiving when it comes to the outcome of your decisions. However, do note that your end goal is to be drafted to an NFL team so keep that in mind!

You’ll also be able to customize your character to your liking. There are quite a few character customization options available such as voice, skin tone, hairstyle, beard style, colors, etc.

Before we start, an obvious disclaimer: we’re going to go over all the choices in the game mode and discuss them in detail. If you don’t want anything spoiled for you, you better close this page. Still here? Good. Let’s go!

Choice #1: Which Roster to Choose?
There are two choices you can make here. You can either go with the preseason roster or the updated/active roster:

Preseason Roster Updated Roster
You start everything from before 19-20 NFL season without any player injuries, etc. You play with an updated 19-20 NFL roster with player injuries and all the other changes

Choice #2: Choosing a College Team
After you’re done with roster choice and character customization, you’ll get a total of 10 teams to choose from. You’ll play for the team you choose here until the end so select the one you like. Here are your options:

  1. Clemson
  2. Florida
  3. Florida State
  4. LSU
  5. Miami
  6. Oklahoma
  7. Oregon
  8. Texas
  9. Texas Tech
  10. USC

Choice #3: Choosing Opposing Team
After a while, a security guard confusing you for a staff member will ask you about the team you’re going to play against. Once again, choose whichever team you like the most or least – depending on the perspective.

Choice #4: Playstyle
Soon after the encounter with the security personnel, a reporter will come to you and inquire about your playstyle. You’ll be given four choices and your choice will determine your playstyle through the entirety of Face of the Franchise mode.

Scrambler You run with the ball. That’s how you play your game.
Strong Arm Your strength lies in making long passes.
Improviser Your mantra is high risk, high reward plays. Improvise, adapt, and execute.
Field General You’re an all-rounder player, excellent with short to medium passes.

Choice #5: Personality Type
The next thing you’ll need to define is your personality type. You’ll again get four choices to choose from. Here’s a breakdown of these choices and what you can expect from them:

Entertainer You believe in entertainment value above everything else. You like media persons running behind you and making the headlines.
Team Player You’re willing to put yourself down for the betterment of the team. You regard teamplay over individuality.
Intense For you, winning always comes first – no matter the cost. You’re crazy about what you do and want to be a superstar.
Leader You lead by example.
