Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition Announced for Nintendo Switch but Its Price May Put You Off

Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition on Nintendo Switch

Obsidian Entertainment and Versus Evil recently announced that the popular isometric-RPG, Pillars of Eternity, is coming to Nintendo Switch via Nintendo eShop on 8th August for $49.99 – €49.99 / £44.99.

Dubbed as Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition, Nintendo Switch version includes The White March: Parts I & II expansion packs as well as all the updates from the PC version including raised level cap, added difficulty settings and expanded AI party options. Obsidian also claims that the game has been optimized to play comfortably both in docked and handheld modes.

Now the fantastical world, tactical combat, and unforgettable storyline can be taken anywhere you go. Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition includes all the additional content from the PC version, including the DLC and expansions. The game has been optimized to play comfortably in front of your TV with controllers or in handheld mode. Easily navigate the game’s detailed character creation, real-time-with-pause combat, and party management thanks to thoughtful updates to UI and controls.

Despite all the goodness, the game’s asking price may put some fans off.

There is no debate that PoE is a great game with content to keep everyone occupied for 100s of hours but at the end of the day, it’s still a port of a game that launched back in 2015 and is now available across all major platforms. If you’ve been looking to pick the game up, you should maybe wait for a sale.

Speaking of which, if you’re in the UK, you can benefit from a 20% pre-order discount essentially making it for £35.99. To decrease the price even further, you can try some trusted third-party sellers for £30 eShop cards that should be for about £27 – allowing you to buy it for £32.00-ish.

This is still more than £19.99 which should’ve been the asking price, but it’s a better option if you were looking to buy it at the full price.

There is no confirmation of a physical release as of now but that may change later down the road. Until then, check this official trailer attached below:
